Gratitude: Make It Sincere

We have had an on-going discussion nigh the bigWebApps virtual water cooler about the abuse of the word "thanks."
People say "thanks" while they're not actually thankful as the additional party's deed. At this point, it's virtually a substitute as "bye." And deserving to this, it is greatly cheapened. I coincide with the other party in that regard.
But it's been taken a tread further in that saying "thanks" puts you in a "position of weakness." I whole-heartedly disagree.
Here is a post by Seth Godin that happens to be quite timely to our conversation. I'm posting the entire post since it's so short (for Seth does so well).

Do you deserve it?
Do you deserve the luck you've been handed? The place you were nativity, the teaching you were given, the job you've got? Do you deserve your clan, your purchaser found, your mark?
Not by all. "Deserve" is such a loaded word. Most of us don't deserve the large opportunities we have, or the fortunate damages that got us here.
The answer shouldn't be, "do you deserve it." I calculate it should be, "what are you going to do with it now thatyou've got it?"

When somebody takes time out of their daytime to share with us a bug in an of our applications or watch a webinar where we are spurting off about someone we established, I am profoundly thankful for that person act so. What motivated that person to spend their time from a engaged daytime to share with us? And more importantly, how/what can we do to convey someone to them that makes our next event with them go ashore their "can't miss" menu?
If that puts me in a position of weakness, then I ambition gladly serve that role.
In closing, I would like to mention namely you taking your period to peruse this trifling email namely appreciated by me. If it was worth your period, I look inward to the next chance you give me to chat with you.
